About John Pepp

I obtained an Associate in Applied Science: Computer Graphics Technology degree from Schoolcraft College in December of 2010. I have been interested in computers since the early 1980s with the Commodore 64 being my first computer. I transition to the PC with an Intel 80286 computer and ever since then I have been a PC person. In the late 1980s and early 1990s I ran a BBS called Pepsters's Place, which is by no coincidence is the same name as this website. I even wrote a few applications and games for the BBS, one game was Pepster's Movie Trivia that I rewrote in Actionscript 3 and you can find a variation here in the games section. On October 3, 1999 I started Pepster's Place using Microsoft's Frontpage and knew very basic HTML, but I really didn't gain knowledge of the full potential of HTML/CSS until this year when I took a XHTML/CSS design course at Schoolcraft College. I have since taken a Web Design course in order for me to design better websites and have learned PHP and Javascript along the way. I have been using Dreamweaver and Notepad++ since 2006 to do to all my HTML/CSS, PHP and JavaScript coding.

I registered Pepster's Place in 2009 with the aspirations of making this website a profitable business for this is something I really love doing. I am continuously improving this website as I learn more about HTML/CSS, Javascript and PHP, plus I am incorporating those techniques into my website designs that I do for others. I also develop Flash applications and games for online or standalone, though eventually I want to develop for the Android Market and maybe even the iPad market. I keep up on all the latest technology trends by listening to a variety of podcasts and visiting various online technology websites. I have besides web designing skills have learn how to use After Effects that enables me to edited and add special effects to videos.

When I am not designing I enjoy Photography and consider myself a good amateur photographer. I focus mainly on wildlife photography and vintage WW2 airplane photography. I love taking pictures of birds, specially birds of prey such as hawks and eagles. My other hobby is building computers and I have even obtained certification as a Computer Service Technician in 2006 from Schoolcraft College. Though I have been building and repairing computers since 2000. I feel everyone should at least have basic knowledge what makes up a computer for it makes diagnosing a troubled computer easier to do.
